Fantasy Strike Announced For The Playstation 4!!

Some would say that when Street Fighter II first came on the scene and introduced people to the fighting game genre, it was a much simpler time.

It would also be fair to say that some of us failed to see just how deep the rabbit hole went when it came to the science of fighting games like Street Fighter II but one individual in particular did see this and his name is David Sirlin.

David Sirlin, whose accolades include, representing Team USA at a Super Battle Opera tournament in Street Fighter, having his tutorials be a part of the Street Fighter Anniversary Collection, and lead game designer of Street Fighter HD Remix, has finally revealed his latest project Fantasy Strike!!

Fantasy Strike’s main goal is simplicity but just like Street Fighter II the objective is making the rabbit hole go deeper.

The basic button layout includes jump, attack, and two specials. One of the biggest surprises of this fighting game is its absence of a crouch mechanic which we are certainly curious about.

The characters from Fantasy Strike come from Yomi, a turn based card game that borrows many elements of fighting game strategy at its core.

The multiplayer online, will feature GGPO’s signature roll back netcode in addition to 3 online modes as well.

Though Fantasy Strike is making its way to the PS4, PC players can get their hands on the pre-alpha version through Fantasy Strike’s Patreon page.

Fantasy Strike will be available to play during the Playstation Experience 2016 starting December 3rd!!
