Killer Instinct To Add Combo Assist Mode In ver. 2.13!!

One of the biggest challenges in getting new comers to enjoy fighting games has a great deal to do with the learning curve that it takes to perform high damaging combos.

While this challenge is what sets fighting games apart from other video games, developers have tried to bridge this gap for beginners in a way that will help them appreciate their fighting game on another level.

This time around Killer Instinct aims to do this with Combo Assist Mode a new option that will be available in ver. 2.13.

In this mode, a set of complex inputs are simplified so that a beginner can easily execute a combo with “less motions” while the timing and frame data are still identical.

The example below shows how the Combo Assist Mode would simplify a complex set of motions:

The hope is that once beginners get the hang of the basics as far as timing, spacing, and game mechanics they will take off the mode and get into the heavy executions that veterans of the genre enjoy.
