New Details For BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle Reveals Release Date And More!!

A boat load of information for BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle was recently announced during the Arc System Works Fighting Game Award tournament in Japan revealing the official release date, the initial launch roster, and downloadable content for the future!

The latter half of the trailer reveals latest character entry Blake Belladonna from RWBY who will be the first DLC character for this upcoming title. The trailer also revealed a release date in Japan for this summer on May 31st. Arc System Works also announced the release date for North America which will come shortly after Japan’s on June 5th.

In addition to the release date, Arc System Works have also revealed the character roster at launch and their plans for additional download content. 20 character have been confirmed for the initial launch. This officially confirms something we previously speculated with the trailer that released back in December as 20 characters have in fact been revealed for the game.

An additional 20 characters have been announced for DLC and Arc System Works plans to release this DLC as follows:


  • DLC Character All-in-One Pack
  • DLC Character: Blake Belladonna
  • DLC Character Set Vol. 1: ???, ???, and ???
  • DLC Character Set Vol. 2: ???, ???, and ???
  • DLC Character Set Vol. 3: ???, ???, and ???
  • DLC Character Set Vol. 4: ???, ???, and ???
  • DLC Character Set Vol. 5: ???, ???, and ???
  • DLC Character Set Vol. 6: ???, ???, and ???
  • DLC Character: ???

No additional information on how these character sets will be priced has been given at the moment but we do have some pricing information for the actual game. In Japan, BBTAG will cost 5,800 yen. Based on the retail comparisons of other game prices in Japan, this comes out to about $40 here in the states. For those who will be attending the first EVO Japan, a demo of BBTAG will be playable from January 26th to the 27th.

BlazBlue Cross Tag Battle, will be coming to Playstation 4, Switch, and PC via Steam.
