Pokken Tournament Championship Series Announced!!

The most shocking news yesterday during the reveal for the Evolution 2016 lineup was, without a doubt, the announcement of Pokken Tournament coming to the famous fighting game tournament series.

While many saw this as a definite blind side, recent information reveals that there is more to this decision than meets the eye.

As it turns out, Evo will be the first big event of a competitive series leading into a final tournament that will be taking place in August at the Pokemon World Championships.

The circuit titled Pokken Tournament Championship Series will be taking place at various competitions throughout the year including the Pokemon US National Championships among others.

Pokken Tournament, developed by Bandai Namco Entertainment creators of the popular Tekken series, will be released on March 18th for the Nintendo Wii U.

We are definitely curious to see what will come of these events as this seems to be a pretty huge endeavor for a new fighting game that features a cast of characters from the very popular and successful Pokemon franchise!
