Official Release Date And New Characters Revealed For Samurai Shodown!!

Last night, or should we say this morning by Japan’s standard time, SNK revealed their release date and new characters at a special event showing off a new trailer that is now available:

The trailer reveals the 3 new confirmed characters Darli Dagger, whose concept art was revealed during a special Samurai Shodown panel at PAX East, Wu-Ruixiang, and Yashamaru Kurama. It also confirms a release date of June 27th(most likely 26th here in the states) for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

The countdown has now begun as we await the coming of summer to get our hands on this reboot of the series. If you are a PS4 owner and interested in trying out an older title in the series, you can grab the remastered Samurai Shodown V Special which comes with matchmaking online modes. For Xbox One owners, there is Samurai Shodown II available as a backwards compatible title which has an online matchmaking mode as well.

Of course, there is still hope that SNK has not let every cat out of the bag just yet so we will be keeping an eye out for any incoming surprises that may arrive.
