USFIV Netcode Update On Steam Beta Available! Update!

Update 3/19/2015 10:15

There still hasn’t been an official update about the changes to Ultra Street Fighter IV but there has been a lot of feed back coming from different sources. Some are speculating the steam beta client is fixing an issue with peer to peer networking as it concerns the fighting game.

So far player feedback has been mixed. It seems that connections have improved when it comes to the private endless lobby matches and players are not getting the lag spikes as they’ve experienced before. It would also seem that they’ve improved the accuracy on the latency bars giving you a faster result when it comes to determining the connection between you and another player.

Though there does seem to be good improvements,  pinging players in ranked, request, and open lobbies still seems to be an issue. For more feedback about the recent steam beta client update, you can check out the eventhub article as well as the community page announcement.

Just to reiterate, this beta update is in regards to the steam client and not a game beta as with the previous opt-in beta that Capcom did previously.

Just an hour ago, an announcement was made on the steam community page for Ultra Street Fighter IV. It would seem that Capcom developers have been working with Valve to help address issues with the netcode and have made a recent change that can be accessed through a beta update client.

There wasn’t much detail as to what this change is affecting but we will continue to keep you posted with any new updates we receive.
