Capcom Pro Tour 2017 Online Series Starting This Week!!

The online series for the Capcom Pro Tour 2017 has officially returned with major changes that are sure to help make this year’s events an even better experience than it has been previously.

This year, the online series has made a major adjustment to each region’s event taking more of the coastal areas of each country into consideration this time around. For example, the North America region, will now have two separate competitions for east and west coast regions with other regions following an identical format.

In addition to making regional improvements for each online tournament, CPT is also lifting the cap for player participation as well. The first event will start off in the Asia region this week on April 28th with the first North American event happening on May 13th. Like before, top 8 of each online series will be broadcast on the official Capcom Fighters twitch.tv channel!

For registration, you will first want to check here for your regions schedule and additional details, and then head over to Smash.gg who is now the official tournament website for this years online series.

We are certainly happy with the new approach that Capcom is taking this year for the online series and look forward to seeing what our world online warriors have to bring to the table for this season!! We will be adding the North American regional qualifiers to our events section as a way of helping you keep a breast of upcoming tournaments so make sure and keep an eye out for that.
