Red Bull Proving Grounds Returns On March 30th!!

The competition for Street Fighter V seems to be growing exponentially each coming month and the return of Red Bull’s Proving Grounds only cements this further!

Starting March 30th, competitors will face off in regional tournaments throughout the country attempting to rake up ranking points that will put them at the top of the leader board for the season. This time around, however, things will be a lot different.

Unlike last year, Red Bull Proving Grounds has now been broken up into two seasons Spring and Fall. Spring season begins next month on March 30th. The biggest change to Proving Grounds comes with how finals will take place. Instead of the traditional 1 vs 1 tournament, competitors will now become a 3 man unit comprised of the top ranked players for each region. The online competition is also returning with three qualifiers which will create another team that will represent one of the regions.

The 12 regional teams will be divided into a East and West coast division. Once the regular season comes to an end, teams will first battle it out in their division leaving the finalists from each division to battle it out in a grand finale that will crown the winning team with a total prize pot of $6,000 and a fully paid trip to EVO 2017!!

All will not be lost for those who do not make it to the final battle as Red Bull is rewarding their regional top 8 players with an all expense paid trip to EVO 2017 as well!!

Sign-ups are now available on smash.gg for each respective region. We have already added the first online competition to our events section and will be adding each subsequent event so make sure and check back with us for upcoming tournaments.

We are definitely excited about the new team playoffs format and can not wait to see what the end result will be for the beginning season.
