Super Smash Bros. Melee Is Getting An Online Edition!!

We have known for some time about the ability to play Super Smash Bros. Melee online using the Dolphin Emulator. It has been no secret that SSBM has been lauded as the best game in the series and yet there has never been any talk from Nintendo in regards to an HD version with multiplayer online features.

It would seem that one player in the community is tired of waiting and is ready to do something that is going to change the way you play SSBM online in a very big way!!

Melee Online is going to give you the ultimate experience for SSMB netplay. MO will be integrated with the Dolphin Emulator. Features include a ranked match making system, an online lobby for friendlies, and a voice and text-based chat room!

Joseph Delgado, creator of Melee Online, is also working on a feature that may reduce the online input latency as well and promises to share this information with the Dolphin’s developers if he is successful!!

For those who are interested in being apart of the alpha which is taking place sometime this fall, sign-ups are now available on the official Melee Online website.

We will be keeping our eye on the progress of this applications development and look forward to putting up an official page once this project goes gold!!
