Nintendo Switch Now Available!!

Nintendo’s new console the Switch is now available at several retail stores!!

Once again, Nintendo has set out to give players a different experience from the other consoles that are on the market by offering a system that grants players more mobility than ever before.

The Switch can be played at home, on the go, and just about anywhere with friends in a various amount of ways. The new controller, named JoyCon, acts both as a motion device and a dual player remote depending on the game choice.

Retailing @ $299.99(Ethernet adapter sold separately) the Switch comes with the console and one JoyCon controller. The switch has an internal storage of 32Gb and has an SD slot to extend more storage space.

The online service for the Switch will be free for a limited time with payment plans coming later in the fall.

At the moment launch titles are pretty sparse and there are not any fighting game titles from what we have seen.  We have confirmed at least three fighting games titles that will be coming to the console this year:

Pocket Fighters

Release Date: Sometime this Month

Players: 1-2

Pocket Fighters will most likely be the first fighting game title to come to the new system. Featuring simplistic controls, a nostalgic aesthetic based on the classic Neo Geo Pocket, and the popular GGPO netcode, Pocket Fighters is definitely a game we recommend you check out.

Ultra Street Fighter II

Release Date: May 26

Players: 1-2

24 years have passed since the last version of Street Fighter II released so you can image our surprise when Capcom surprised us with Ultra Street Fighter II during the Nintendo Switch press conference at the beginning of the year!

Ultra Street Fighter II features the HD Remix upgrade crafted by the Street Fighter comic book creators Udon. This latest version of Street Fighter II will feature balance changes for entire cast, two new characters, and additional game modes.

We suspect that the same roll back netcode from the HD Remix will be available on this title as well.

The initial price seems a bit steep for re-entry into this classic series but if your an avid fan of Super Street Fighter II Turbo you’re probably chomping at the bit to see what they’ve done to this new version.

Arms

arms

Release Date: TBA

Players: 1-2

Arms is not your traditional fighter but we suspect that some will embrace it as one when it releases. Making use of the dual motion controls from the Joy-Con, players will be moving and punching their way to victory against various opponents.

We do know that Arc System Works does plan to release a BlazeBlue title on the Switch but we have not gotten any other announcements about this as yet.

We will be creating a page for the Switch console once their first fighting game title releases updating it subsequently after as more titles pour in so stay tuned.
