KOFXIV’s Success Could Lead To More Franchise Reboots!!

In a recent interview with 4gamer, The King Of Fighters XIV producer Yasuyuki Oda gave a very encouraging answer as to the future of other popular SNK fighting games that may be possible should KOFXIV succeed.

“If everyone supports us, we might be able to bring things all the way there.”

The three franchises in question, Fatal Fury, Art Of Fighting, and Samurai Showdown, were SNK’s big heavy hitters during the rise of fighting games in the 90’s and all three titles saw several sequels some of which still have a fairly decent following today.

Recently, SNK Playmore’s pachinko slot division was shut down and the company vowed they would be focusing on video games for the foreseeable future hitting home the possibility of seeing another fighting game reboot from the company soon after the release of 14!!
